Are dogs allowed in the parks?
Yes. They must be on a leash at all times and you must pick up after them.
Do you have programs for seniors?
The Cypress Senior Center offers many programs for adults 55 and over. Clubs, classes, excursions, nutritional dining, social services and special events.
Do you have banquet rooms available for rent?
YES. The Cypress Senior Center and the Cypress Community Center are available for anniversaries, wedding receptions, banquets, business meetings large or small. For more information, please call (714)229-6780 for the Cypress Community Center or (714)229-2005 for the Cypress Senior Center.
Do you need volunteers?
We welcome volunteers and have many types of volunteer opportunities available in youth, adult or senior programming.
How do I sign up for a class?
You can register online at cypressrec.org or on the City’s app, Cypress Central. You may also mail in this Activity Registration form to the recreation office located at 5700 Orange Avenue. If you prefer in person registration, please call (714) 229-6780 to schedule an appointment. We have added a drop box, which is located in front of our doors. If you arrive after 5:00pm, just attach your payment to your registration form and drop it in.
How can get a schedule of classes?
Our Activity Guide is printed quarterly and includes City News. If you would like a class brochure sent to you, please call (714) 229-6780.
How do I become a contract class instructor?
If you are interested in teaching a class or have an idea for a class, we are very interested in you! Please complete a Contract Instructor Proposal Packet and submit it to the Recreation and Community Services main office.
How do I reserve a picnic area?
Veterans Park, Arnold/Cypress Park and Evergreen Park are the only three parks that have pavilion areas which can be rented by a Cypress resident only. All other parks in the City of Cypress are on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a pavilion, please fill out the online reservation application. What types of programs do you offer?
The Cypress Recreation & Community Services offers a wide range of programs for youth, teens, adults and older adults including sports leagues, exercises classes, crafts and other special interest classes.
Where is the Cypress Recreation & Community Center located?
Cypress Recreation & Community Services' main office is located at 5700 Orange Avenue, Cypress, 90630, between Valley View and Walker Streets.

What do I do if I find a dead bird?
- Establish how long the bird has been dead. If the bird has been dead longer than 24 hours or you are not sure then double bag the bird and throw it in the trash.
- If the bird has been dead less than 24 hours, call the Orange County Vector Control District at (714)971-2421 to arrange for a pick-up. They need to speak directly to you to coordinate a pick-up.
- Orange County Vector Control District will make it a priority to pick up all birds although they can never guarantee that a specific bird will be picked up.
