Mayor Pro Tem Bonnie Peat is serving her first term on the Cypress City Council.

Mayor Pro Tem Peat is a retired aerospace executive with 35 years of leadership experience in Parker Hannifin Corporation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration-Finance from California State University, Fullerton. She holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Cypress College and was named their 2022 Alumnus of the Year.

Mayor Pro Tem Peat served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Cypress School District from 2018-2022, twice as President of the Board. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Novaria Group, an aerospace company headquartered in Texas.

Mayor Pro Tem Peat is a member of the Executive Board of GFWC Woman’s Club of Cypress, a non-profit service organization. She is a member of the Cypress Police Foundation and also volunteers for Champions Club special needs ministry and as a small group leader at SeaCoast Grace Church.

Mayor Pro Tem Peat has deep roots and strong connections within the community, having lived in Cypress for over 50 years. She grew up on a dairy farm, when Cypress was known as Dairy City and there were more cows than residents.

She is married to Jon, and they have one son, Michael.
