Council Member David Burke is serving his first term on the Cypress City Council.

Council Member Burke is a native Southern Californian and the son of two public school teachers. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA, and a J.D. from UCLA School of Law. He previously worked for the United States House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means, the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, and clerked for two Los Angeles Superior Court judges. He currently runs a nonprofit that focuses on supporting campaign finance reform and advocating for more transparency in government.

Council Member Burke volunteers with the Cypress Senior Center, and serves as a board member with the Cypress Community Festival Association. He and his wife Courtney, have one son, Adam.
