Mayor Scott Minikus is serving his first term on the Cypress City Council.

Mayor Minikus honorably served in the United States Navy and completed two tours of duty in the Persian Gulf. He retired after 25 years in law enforcement at the City of Long Beach and currently works with the Department of Homeland Security. 

Mayor Minikus has volunteered for a number of local organizations including Department of Homeland Security’s Peer Support Team, Executive Peer Support Committee, YMCA and the Long Beach Grand Prix.

Mayor Minikus is currently representing the City of Cypress on the following boards and committees:
