In 2021, the City Council introduced the Development Fee Waiver Program, waiving up to $20,000 in entitlement and plan check fees for businesses requiring a City permit. Due to its remarkable success, the City Council has allocated additional funds to extend the program through the end of 2024. Also, no paperwork is necessary! If your business is eligible, your fees will be automatically waived up to $20,000. Take advantage of this incredible opportunity!

Businesses moving to or expanding in Cypress often face complicated building, safety, and fire codes that can be difficult and costly to navigate. To assist with these challenges, the City provides funding for technical consultants to support local businesses in addressing these issues. The Community Development team will identify businesses needing this support through the plan check and permit process. Once identified, the business will automatically receive the needed support.

The City's Economic Development Subcommittee has initiated a Business Visitation Program. The Committee will visit businesses in Cypress on a quarterly basis to strengthen relationships with the business community, gather valuable feedback, promote collaboration, increase visibility, and improve communication.
